How old are you?
You are gonna ask a lady her age! i play between 18-23

When did you start doing drag?

I didn’t realize it  til recently, but i started when i was 8.  I dressed up as Peter Pan and lip synched to the Broadway album of Peter Pan-  a boy, played by a woman, playing a boy.  Made my costume, and flitted around the high school auditorium like a superstar!

What difficulties would you say you have faced in this community?

Getting people to believe in you as much as you believe in yourself.  Erasing negative stereotypes that sometimes can be associated with drag.

how long does your transformation take?

If everything is laid out and i do mean EVERYTHING..then about an hour and 10 minutes to feel good about it.  This is wig prepped, jewelry etc.  I’m pretty organized so that i can find everything and know where everything is, in case i have to swap something out last minute.  It helps to have system down so you make the best use of your time.

any advice for anyone starting drag?

Yes! Really find your voice by things that inspire you.  There are absolutely no rules.  Pick a certain hair color or style and stick with it for a while so that people begin to recognize who you are when going out and when getting photographed.  It really establishes you.
If you want to have a career in drag, you must treat it as a business.  And the BEST advice i can give is to COMPETE WITH YOURSELF.  Avoid drama and nonsense that really doesn’t matter.  Be the best you  and learn what it means to have  a “healthy” ego.

your favorite thing about drag?

For me it is making people laugh.  I make myself laugh and hope that other people will come along for the ride. It is also a wonderful thing to personalize something that is your own.

have any shows that would like people to come see ?

Yes i have been doing my show Slurp for over 2 years at Vlada Bar every Sunday at 11pm..i also do Turner And Hooch every Tuesday at XES Lounge 10:30pm  and i perform on a regular basis with my dancers “the Spitfires” on Thursdays at XL for 20something

who do you look up to?

I am inspired by people who have created characters and have entertained the masses..Pee Wee Herman, Dame Edna and legendary comedians like Phyllis Diller and Carol Burnett.

what kind of drag artist would you consider yourself?

I consider myself an Entertainer, who’s drag persona is via a character/personality.  A regular “Showbiz Spitfire!”
